Dendritic cells (DCs) are promising targets for cancer immunotherapies because of their central role in the initiation and control of immune responses. The rare cDC1 population is of particular interest because of its remarkable ability to cross-present antigens (Ag) to CD8+ T cells, to promote Th1 cell polarization and NK cell activation and recruitment. However, the spatial organization and specific functions of cDC1s in response to immunotherapy remain to be clearly characterized in human tumors.

High-level evidence guides clinical decisions, but given the abundance of guidelines, a need to navigate within the evidence has been identified by the board of the Scientific Association of Swiss Radiation Oncology (SASRO). A pilot project was initiated aiming to create an overview of recent clinically relevant evidence for BC RT, to make it easily available to (radiation) oncologists and radiation oncologists in training.

This real-world analysis aimed to evaluate nephrologists' use of renal function tests to support LN diagnosis and monitoring and to examine the impact of disease progression in LN patients in Europe.
Methods: Data were drawn from the Adelphi Lupus Disease Specific Programme, a cross-sectional survey of nephrologists and their next five consulting patients with LN in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom in 2021.

Background: Recent studies show the high prevalence of child maltreatment in Germany and that assaults by hospital staff also pose a problem. Since 2020, the Joint Federal Committee has been calling for institutional safeguarding measures (ISM) to protect and support those affected in hospitals. The aim of this study is to analyze the level of knowledge and action competencies regarding child maltreatment among hospital staff and the extent to which ISM are implemented in hospitals.

Several parameters have been considered in the tumor environment or the blood, but none has yet achieved sufficient accuracy for routine clinical practice. Whole blood samples from MM patients receiving second-line anti-PD1 treatment (NCT02626065), collected longitudinally, were analyzed by flow cytometry to assess the immune cell subsets absolute numbers, the expression of immune checkpoints or ligands on T cells and the functionality of innate immune cells and T cells.

Using paediatric B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (BCP-ALL) as a use case, we present an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted clinical framework clinALL that integrates genomic and clinical data into a user-friendly interface to support routine diagnostics and reveal translational insights for hematologic neoplasia.
Methods: We performed targeted RNA sequencing in 1365 cases with haematological neoplasms, primarily paediatric B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (BCP-ALL) from the AIEOP-BFM ALL study.
Anadromous rainbow smelt (Osmerus mordax, [Mitchill 1814]) are found along the northeast Atlantic coastline of North America, with their range now limited to north of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. Although their anadromous life cycles are described broadly, gaps remain regarding how adult rainbow smelt use estuaries post-spawning, including movement behaviors, habitats used, and specific timing of emigration to coastal waters. In spring 2021, we used acoustic telemetry to characterize movements during and after the spawning season of rainbow smelt captured in tributaries to Great Bay, New Hampshire, USA, a large estuarine system near the southern edge of their range.

Purpose: To estimate the prevalence and incidence of POAG in Germany, to describe the patient population in terms of comorbidity burden, routine care, and overall healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and associated costs, and to describe treatment patterns over time in patients undergoing relevant laser procedures.
Materials And Methods: Based on anonymized German claims data, we carried out a retrospective, noninterventional study covering calendar years 2016-2021.
Cell plasticity sustains intra-tumor heterogeneity and treatment resistance in melanoma. Deciphering the transcriptional mechanisms governing reversible phenotypic transitions between proliferative/differentiated and invasive/stem-like states is required. Expression of the ZEB1 transcription factor is frequently activated in melanoma, where it fosters adaptive resistance to targeted therapies.

By indirect immunofluorescence assay, 37 out of 51 (73%) capybara sera were seropositive to Rickettsia spp.

SOF is highly toxic to humans and the environment, and moreover, it is a potent greenhouse gas. We developed two photoacoustic two-chamber sensors with the aim to detect two different concentration ranges, 0-1 vol.

After mastectomy, postoperative irradiation is regularly indicated in the oncological treatment algorithm. When administering radiation therapy after autologous reconstruction, the tissue transferred is inherently irradiated.

It arises from melanocytes, which are attached to keratinocytes within the basal epidermis. Here, we hypothesize that, in addition to melanocyte-intrinsic modifications, dysregulation of keratinocyte functions could initiate early-stage melanoma cell invasion.

Objective: The purpose of this project was to understand whether parental engagement in developmental monitoring changed over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, from Spring 2019 to Fall 2021.
Aims: Despite migraine being one of the most common neurological diseases, affected patients are often not effectively treated. This analysis describes the burden of migraine in Germany and assesses real-world treatment patterns and healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) of preventive-treated migraine patients from the perspective of Statutory Health Insurance.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using InGef Research Database claims data from 2018-2019.
The present study evaluated the presence of Anaplasma species in questing ticks from six sites with opposing land usage (i.e., protected natural areas or livestock establishments) within the Iberá wetlands ecoregion in Argentina.

Materials And Methods: Zirconia, glass-ceramic, and polymeric (Trilor; TRI, Juvora; JUV, Pekkton; PEK) materials were loaded using crowns for CTC tests, discs (zirconia and glass-ceramics) for piston-on-3 ball tests, bars (polymer) for 3-point bend tests, and bars (zirconia, glass-ceramics) for 4-point bend tests. SEM was used to characterize the fracture surfaces and identify fracture surface features (e.
Metastatic melanoma patients carrying a BRAF mutation can be treated with a combination of BRAF and MEK inhibitors (BRAFi/MEKi), but innate and acquired resistance invariably occurs. Predicting patient response to targeted therapies is crucial to guide clinical decision. We describe here the development of a highly efficient patient-derived xenograft model adapted to patient melanoma biopsies, using the avian embryo as a host (AVI-PDX ).

Despite a vast majority (~90%) of the population of Santa Fe city, Argentina had been vaccinated and/or had been infected by SARS-CoV-2 when Omicron emerged, the epidemic wave that followed its arrival was by far the largest one experienced in the city. A serosurvey conducted prior to the arrival of Omicron allowed to assess the acquired humoral defences preceding the wave and to conduct a longitudinal study to provide individual-level real-world data linking antibody levels and protection against COVID-19 during the wave.
