Nutcracker syndrome is the terminology used when the nutcracker phenomenon is accompanied by symptoms including pain (abdominal, flank, pelvic), hematuria, and orthostatic proteinuria. Diagnosis can be made with Doppler ultrasound, venography, computed tomography, or magnetic resonance imaging.
