Objectives: Iatrogenic withdrawal syndrome (IWS) associated with opioid and sedative use for medical purposes has a reported high prevalence and associated morbidity. This study aimed to determine the prevalence, utilization, and characteristics of opioid and sedative weaning and IWS policies/protocols in the adult ICU population.
Design: International, multicenter, observational, point prevalence study.
Objective Improve left without being seen (LWBS) in our high volume, tertiary care trauma center. Prior to intervention, our LWBS rate was 4.4%.

This novel virus was discovered in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, in December 2019. As of September 6, 2020, confirmed cases have risen to more than 27,000,000 worldwide and more than 885,000 people have died.

This was the first outbreak of autochthonous transmission of dengue in Florida since 1934. In response to this outbreak, a multifaceted public education outreach campaign was launched.

A diverse range of primary aryl amines were explored as reactants to gain insight into the product isolated as a result of the steric and electronic effects of the aryl precursors. Analysis and reaction monitoring with UV-vis and NMR spectroscopy revealed that excessively electron withdrawing groups and sterically hindered amines do not allow for isolation of the common neutral tetrahydroimidazophenanthridine (TIP) structure but allow either the isolation of the charged dihydroimadazophenanthridinium (DIP) or aminoethylphenanthridinium (AEP) products.

This process initiates when the crystals are immersed in aqueous solutions containing large cations and is governed by the solubility of the parent POM crystal. Evidence is presented that indicates the process is general to all types of POMs, with solubility of the parent crystal being the deciding parameter.

The heterocycle is a reactive intermediate in the three-step cascade synthesis of 2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridinium cations (DIPs), a biologically active DNA intercalating framework; however, the intermediate has previously only been characterized in situ. Derivatization of the structure at the imidazo-N position controls the reactivity of the intermediate with respect to electronic potential and pK(a) allowing isolation of a selection of TIP structures.

A cylindrical sintering furnace was used containing a heat insulating layer, a susceptor layer, and an alumina tube containing the green toolbit parts between parallel, electrically conductive, graphite plates. Dielectric and absorption properties of the silicon nitride green parts, the tungsten carbide/cobalt green parts, and an oxidizable susceptor material were measured using perturbation and waveguide transmission methods.

Traditional controls to protect the food supply include, but are not limited to, law and regulation. But law and regulation are only enablers, an underpinning.

Frictional resistance at the bracket-archwire interface has been demonstrated to impede tooth movement when sliding mechanics are used. Thus, the coefficients of friction of titanium and stainless steel brackets used in conjunction with stainless and ion-implanted beta-titanium archwires were investigated using a single contact interface between the brackets and archwires. The wear patterns between the brackets and the.

Dreams were used to ascertain the psychologic impact on nursing students of articipation in abortion and of other educational experiences. Stressfulness of the experiences was measured by number of dreams, recurrence of dreams, and content analysis of the dreams during four data-gathering periods. During stressful periods, dreams tended to be more negative.
