Transformation to a Patient Centred Medical Home in an Urban Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service: A Qualitative Study Using Normalisation Process Theory.

Rationale: The Patient-Centred Medical Home (PCMH) is a model of team-based care that is patient centred, coordinated, accessible, and focused on quality and safety. To learn how this model of healthcare works in an Indigenous primary health care setting in Australia, we explored the experiences of health staff in an urban Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) transitioning to an adapted model of a PCMH. Normalisation Process Theory (NPT) was applied to better understand factors enabling and inhibiting implementation of the PCMH, and the work required to deliver it.

This qualitative study explores the experiences of patients of an urban Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service during its transition to a model of a PCMH. Methods Twenty-eight community members who were registered as patients of an urban Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service were purposively recruited to participate in yarning interviews.

A systematic review of observational studies exploring the relationship between health and non-weight-centric eating behaviours.

Eating behaviour that does not centralise weight, otherwise known as weight-neutral, is associated with improved physical and psychological health, and greater health promoting behaviours. However, consolidated evidence is lacking. This study aimed to systematically evaluate 'health-centric' eating behaviour reflective of weight-neutral approaches, and their relationship with health (physical and mental) and health promoting behaviours.

Objective: To synthesise the evidence on the relationships between internalised weight bias (IWB) and biopsychosocial health outcomes in individuals ≤ 25 years.

Methods: A systematic review was conducted by searching five scientific databases up to May 2022 to retrieve studies that investigated associations between IWB and biopsychosocial outcomes. Borataalkenes and boraalkenes are the boron-containing isoelectronic analogues of alkenes and vinyl cations respectively. Compared with alkenes, the borataalkene and boraalkene ligand motifs in transition metal coordination chemistry are relatively underexplored. In this review, the synthesis of borataalkene and boraalkene complexes and other transition metal complexes featuring the η-B,C coordination mode is described.

Effect of bivalirudin on coagulation in neonatal (cord) and adult human blood in vitro.

Introduction: Bivalirudin is recommended as an alternative to heparin in cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. Although it has been used in infants and children for this indication, there is a paucity of data on the pharmacologic effects of bivalirudin in neonates. Given the immaturity of the hemostatic system in neonates, we hypothesized that coagulation responses to bivalirudin in this population would be different than in adults.

Rethinking student evaluation of teaching: A policy analysis.

Institutions of higher education with tenure and promotion policies that rely heavily on student evaluations of teaching may create academic progression barriers for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) faculty. The purpose of this policy analysis is to explore how current practice of utilizing Student Evaluation of Teaching (SETs) as the major source to evaluate teaching effectiveness, impacts tenure for BIPOC faculty, using Bardach and Patashnik's (2019) eight steps of policy analysis. Context provided includes cultural history, policy and evidence regarding the use of SETs.

Differences in coloration between the sexes (sexual dichromatism) can increase or decrease in a species through evolutionary changes in either or both sexes diverging or converging in their colors. Few previous studies, however, have examined the relative rates of such changes, particularly when dichromatism is lost. Using reflectance data from 37 species of the New World blackbird family (Icteridae), we compared evolutionary rates of plumage color change in males and females when dichromatism was either increasing (colors diverging) or decreasing (colors converging).

Synthesis of Allenes by Hydroalkylation of 1,3-Enynes with Ketones Enabled by Cooperative Catalysis.

A method for the synthesis of allenes by the addition of ketones to 1,3-enynes by cooperative Pd(0)Senphos/B(CF)/NR catalysis is described. A wide range of aryl- and aliphatic ketones undergo addition to various 1,3-enynes in high yields at room temperature. Mechanistic investigations revealed a rate-determining outer-sphere proton transfer mechanism, which was corroborated by DFT calculations.

In response to substantial population growth and increasing demand on existing primary care services, the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) developed the IUIH System of Care-2 (ISoC2), based on an international Indigenous-led PCMH. ISoC2 was piloted at an urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Health Service in South-East Queensland between 2019-2020, with further adaptations made to ensure its cultural and clinical relevance to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Background: Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) are electric fields that disrupt processes critical for cancer cell survival, leading to immunogenic cell death and enhanced antitumour immune response. In preclinical models of non-small-cell lung cancer, TTFields amplified the effects of chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors. We report primary results from a pivotal study of TTFields therapy in metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer.
