Background: Adult survivors of childhood cancer are at risk for cardiovascular events.

Objectives: In this study, we sought to determine the risk for mortality after a major cardiovascular event among childhood cancer survivors compared with noncancer populations.

Methods: All-cause and cardiovascular cause-specific mortality risks after heart failure (HF), coronary artery disease (CAD), or stroke were compared among survivors and siblings in the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) and participants in the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) study.

The role of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) in cancer tumorigenesis was established decades ago, yet there are limited studies evaluating the imaging and therapeutic properties of anti-IGF-1R antibodies. Noninvasive imaging of IGF-1R may allow for optimized patient stratification and monitoring of therapeutic response in patients. Herein, this study reports the development of a Zirconium-89 ((89)Zr)-labeled anti-IGF-1R antibody ((89)Zr-Df-1A2G11) for PET imaging of pancreatic cancer.

The authors analyzed temporal variations in asthma hospital admissions for New Jersey children (0-14 years of age) over a 3-year period. Significant spikes in children's asthma hospital admissions occurred during late September and early October of each of the 3 years of the study. The authors report on an in-depth analysis of the fall peak periods, in an effort to determine whether there was an association between children's asthma hospital admissions and environmental variables.
