Background: The evaluation of activated protein C (APC) resistance based on the endogenous thrombin potential (ETP) is recommended during the development of steroid contraceptives in women. In 2019, this assay was validated on the calibrated automated thrombogram (CAT) device. However, in view of its screening potential, its automation is essential.

Summmary : In Belgium, as in most developed countries, routine antenatal screening for cytomegalovirus (CMV) remains controversial and is not recommended. However, 1-2 % of seronegative pregnant women will develop a primary infection during pregnancy and, with a prevalence of 0.7 % of live births, CMV is the leading cause of congenital infection.

Pyelectasis is a dilatation of the renal pelvis. It must be differentiated from hydronephrosis which is a dilation of the renal pelvis and of the renal calyces. In this retrospective study, we focused on the treatment and follow up of 31 newborns in whom a pyelectasis had been diagnosed in utero.
