Objective: This systematic review aimed to understand the role of emotion regulation (ER) across the spectrum of disordered eating behaviors and attitudes in adolescents.

Method: A literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, and 8381 articles were extracted. After removing duplicates and screening, data from 50 articles involving 31,591 participants from 18 countries were included.

Purpose Of Review: Recent literature suggests a potential causal link between metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS) and an increased risk of eating disorders. However, the available literature offers unclear results regarding the definition of eating problems among MBS patients, their potential impact on weight outcomes, and the efficacy of adjunctive treatment.

Recent Findings: Although eating disorders may be rare phenomena after surgery, disordered eating behaviors are more common and tend to be more consistently associated with suboptimal weight loss.

Objective: Post-operative development of restrictive eating disorders can occur in patients after bariatric surgery. In children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) or atypical AN, premorbid body mass index (BMI) has recently been shown to predict total weight loss. We hypothesized that pre-operative BMI similarly predicts weight loss and the development of a restrictive eating disorder in adult bariatric patients.

The development and application of an electrochemical sensor is reported for detection of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (P3HB) - a bioplastic derived from agro-industrial residues. To overcome the challenges of molecular imprinting of macromolecules such as P3HB, this study employed methanolysis reaction to break down the P3HB biopolymer chains into methyl 3-hydroxybutyrate (M3HB) monomers. Thereafter, M3HB were employed as the target molecules in the construction of molecularly imprinted sensors.
