Sexual self-concept and sexual self-schema are multidimensional constructs critical to developing a more holistic theoretical understanding of the sexual self. With an increased amount of research exploring these constructs over the past few decades, a systematic review was warranted to highlight next steps for future research in this area. Therefore, utilizing a staged systematic review, we aimed to explore how these parallel concepts are measured and among which populations they are used.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: The aim of this study was to update overall incidence and prevalence calculations for epilepsy of the United Kingdom (UK) and its constituent nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales).
Methods: We used data from primary care practices contributing to the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CRPD), based on the electronic health records of 14 million patients, representing approximately 20% of the population. CPRD contains data from two different health record systems: the Vision clinical system (CPRD GOLD database) and the EMIS Web® clinical system (CPRD Aurum database).
Purpose: While several studies have assessed quality and completeness of recording acute medical events in Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Aurum, evaluation of additional chronic conditions is warranted.
Methods: We selected patients with a first diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) coded in their CPRD Aurum record between 2005 and 2019. We assessed quality of RA diagnosis by evaluating additional information in the patient record that would corroborate the diagnosis.

Objective: To assess the presence of indications for prescription use in Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Aurum (January 1988-June 2021) by describing the proportion of men in CPRD Aurum who had a recorded indication for use of prescriptions for 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (5-ARI), alpha blockers (AB), or tadalafil, which have multiple indications.
