Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are remarkably effective for treating EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, patients inevitably develop acquired drug resistance, resulting in recurrence or metastasis. It is important to identify novel effective therapeutic targets to reverse acquired TKI resistance.

Introduction: Acute radiation dermatitis (ARD) is a common side effect experienced during radiation therapy (RT) for cancer. Published clinical trials for ARD use a myriad of assessment tools and outcomes to measure ARD severity, which limits the comparability of clinical trial results. Our study utilized a modified Delphi consensus survey to gather expert opinions on commonly used tools for ARD severity.

Meniscus injuries present significant therapeutic challenges due to their limited self-healing capacity and the diverse biological and mechanical properties across the tissue. Conventional repair strategies do not replicate the complex zonal characteristics within the meniscus, resulting in suboptimal outcomes. In this study, we introduce an innovative fetal/adult and stiffness-tunable meniscus decellularized extracellular matrix (DEM)-based hydrogel system designed for precision repair of heterogeneous, zonal-dependent meniscus injuries.

Background: Hand and foot melanomas (HFM) have increased risk for positive margins after conventional excision (CE). Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) may improve margin clearance prior to reconstruction. Rates of reconstruction with positive margins have not been compared after CE versus MMS for HFM.

Developing innovative antimicrobial agents is essential in the fight against drug-resistant bacteria, as well as biofilms and persistent bacteria. In this study, four series of amphiphilic cephalosporin derivatives were synthesized. Most of the compounds showed good activity against Gram-positive bacteria, among which membrane-active cephalosporin 15e showed high activity against Staphylococcus aureus.
