[The role of estrogens in bone metabolism in women after menopause].

Mechanism of estrogens effect on bone metabolism in relation to postmenopausal period is discussed. An emphasis is on multiple effects of estrogens as both systemic and local factors. A role of progesterone and other gestagens in the process of bone remodelling is also stressed.
