Background: Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy (Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD)) is a rare entity with pathological accumulation of specific, activated macrophages, mainly in cervical lymph nodes. However, in half of patients its primary presentation is extranodal. Its aetiology is unclear; several clues point in an immunological direction.

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of the hepatic vein in Budd-Chiari syndrome is a safe method, although recurrent stenosis makes it necessary to repeat it several times in most cases. Insertion of a wall-stent in the hepatic vein seems to be a more long-lasting treatment.

For reference to outpatient measurements, a standard sphygmomanometer was included. Analysis of the data for any device was performed according to a statistical model in which two types of errors, representing accuracy and reproducibility, were distinguished: offset (mean difference between intraarterial measurement and device) and standard deviation (comprising intraindividual and interindividual variability).

L-Glutamate (Glu) was microinjected into the IMLn between C7 and T4 to locate cardiovascular sites. Micropipettes containing Glu were stereotaxically positioned in 82 histologically verified sites in the IMLn between C7 and T4 on both the right and left sides.
