Iatrogenic hemorrhage and extensive venous thromboembolism during iTTP treatment with caplacizumab-A case report.

Caplacizumab reduces the need for therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) during treatment for thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), associates with fewer required TPE, and shortens hospital stay. It is therefore recommended as part of standard care. However, the treatment effects on hemostasis may complicate initial management.

The new system for classification of periodontal and peri-implant disease: A questionnaire study of implementation by Swedish dental hygienists.

Objective: To what extent do dental hygienists (DH) employed by the Public Dental Health Service (PDHS) in Sweden use the new classification system, their knowledge of it and their attitudes towards it.

Methods: A web-based questionnaire was distributed to DHs in the PDHS in different regions of Sweden. A total of 197 registered DHs responded.

Background: The ongoing TANGO2 (Telephone Assisted CPR. AN evaluation of efficacy amonGst cOmpression only and standard CPR) trial is designed to evaluate whether compression-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by trained laypersons is noninferior to standard CPR in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. This pilot study assesses feasibility, safety, and intermediate clinical outcomes as part of the larger TANGO2 survival trial.

Current perspectives on mesenchymal stromal cell therapy for graft versus host disease.

Graft versus host disease (GvHD) is the clinical condition in which bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have been most frequently studied. In this review, we summarize the experience from clinical trials that have paved the way to translation. While MSC-based therapy has shown an exceptional safety profile, identifying potency assays and disease biomarkers that reliably predict the capacity of a specific MSC batch to alleviate GvHD has been difficult.
