Background: Person-centered care is a concept in healthcare that aims to promote the patient's health and adapt resources and interventions based on the patient's needs and wishes. Knowledge on what person-centered physiotherapy is for patients who rehabilitate after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and how patients experience it within the context of sports injury rehabilitation, is lacking.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore how patients who were in a late rehabilitation stage (8-12 months) after ACL reconstruction experienced their rehabilitation from a person-centered perspective.

Objective: To investigate changes in cardiometabolic risk factors after completion of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) for coronary heart disease (CHD) and ascertain whether the magnitude of improvement in cardiometabolic health differs between those with and without metabolic syndrome (MetS).

Methods: In this observational cohort study, data were analyzed from 1984 patients enrolled in CR at the University of Michigan between 2011-01-01 and 2020-02-29 for the indication of CHD. Patient characteristics were collected from standardized health questionnaires and during CR intake evaluations.

Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation improves emotional processing.

Background: Invasive vagus nerve stimulation (iVNS) is approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). The limited understanding of its underlying mechanisms, however, hinders stratification and the prediction of treatment response. Given the strong projections of the afferent vagal nucleus to brain regions involved in emotional processing, we tested whether acute transauricular VNS (taVNS) can improve emotional processing that is a core deficit in MDD.
