The distribution of lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes in adult human Achilles tendons.

The authors have studied the LDH isoenzymes distribution in the human Achilles tendons. Connection between the age, sex, and enzyme activity were not found. In the Achilles tendon were found strong activity of isoenzymes IV and V (M-type), and controversy them moderate activity of isoenzymes I and II (H-type).

Histochemical and biochemical alterations in skeletal muscles of rats during combined chronic hypoxia and hypokinesia.

This investigation was designed to study the long term effect of combined hypokinesia and hypoxia on the skeletal muscle. In the muscles of the hypoxic and hypokinetic animals, serious degenerative changes were found and the fibre type ratio was alterated. The malate dehydrogenase activity was decreased, and both LDH and MDH isoenzymes pattern were alterated.

Recapillarization of tenotomized skeletal muscles after delayed tendon suture. I. Experimental study.

The investigation was under taken to study the long-term effect of tendon suturing on the capillarization of guinea-pig crural muscle after Achilles tenotomy. The results indicate that the capillary density has been greatly decreased by the tenotomy. The recapillarization and the time of restitution of the crural muscle are influenced by the interval between tenotomy and tendon suture.
