Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate an expanded matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) database for the identification of species other than (Hi).

Methods: A total of 144 species, cultured from respiratory samples from people (living) with cystic fibrosis, were identified with MALDI-TOF MS and 16S rRNA sequencing. Of these, 99 strains showed >99% similarity with the best matching strain in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database and were assigned to a single subspecies using both MALDI-TOF MS and 16S rRNA sequencing.

Objective: Sotrovimab, a dual-action, engineered human monoclonal antibody, has been demonstrated to significantly reduce the risk of hospitalisation and death in high-risk patients with COVID-19. Here, we describe the real-world use of, and outcomes from, sotrovimab treatment in Belgium during the Delta and Omicron waves among patients with COVID-19 at high risk of developing severe disease.

Methods: This was a multicentric, single-arm observational cohort study of non-hospitalised patients receiving outpatient sotrovimab treatment between 1 November 2021 and 2 August 2022 at nine hospitals in Belgium.

Bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are intricately intertwined, with NTM capable of being both a cause and consequence of bronchiectatic disease. This narrative review focuses on the common ground of bronchiectasis and NTM pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) in terms of diagnostic approach, underlying risk factors and treatment strategies.
