Accurate mapping of colorectal neoplasms is needed in many clinical situations. Intraoperative mapping of small lesions previously detected by endoscopy is often challenging, especially during laparoscopic surgery. Tumor location assessed during colonoscopy may be inaccurate because of limitations of the procedure.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe article summarizes and analyzes data on 32 cases of acute intoxication varying in severity and caused by inhalation of sulfur-containing natural gas of Astrakhan gas deposit (SCNGAGD). The data were obtained in experimental poisoning of 120 Wistar rats with the gas. Pneumopathies (toxic pulmonary edema, pneumonitis, asthmatic bronchitis, alveolitis) appeared to play the central role among other syndromes of the intoxication by SCNGAGD.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFExperiments in chloral hydrate-anesthetized male Wistar rats showed that upon switching of the animals to breathing of natural hydrogen sulphide-containing gas rapid (starting from 10-15s), alterations of the rate and depth of respiratory movements occurred which ended with sudden and irreversible respiratory arrest. At this, the electrical activity of the diaphragm disappeared, the burst activity of respiratory neurons first became continuous and after that completely disappeared. The activity of reticular neurons was the most prolonged one.
