Objective: To study neurological status and structural changes in the tracheal lymphoid tissue in rats with different resistance to emotional stress in experimental hemorrhagic stroke.

Material And Methods: Evaluation of neurological deficit on the Menzies scale and a histological study of structural features of tracheal lymphoid tissue were performed on days 1, 3 and 7 of experimental hemorrhagic stroke in 98 Wistar male rats with different resistance to emotional stress. Stroke simulation was preceded by animal testing to determine individual stress resistance.

The structure of gastric wall was studied by histological methods in Wistar rats in health and after skull trephination and insertion of a needle into the brain. Experimental brain injury led to the development of destructive changes in the gastric wall (in the lymphoid structures located between the gland bottoms and muscle plate of the mucosa). Changes in the structure of cardiac glands and desquamation of the epithelium were detected.

The investigation of the external iliac lymph nodes has been performed in 152 preparations of corpses of mature persons of both sex, who died from causes not connected with any disease of the lymphatic system, lower extremities and pelvic organs. The external iliac lymph nodes and their afferent and efferent lymphatic vessels have been revealed by means of interstitial injection of the lower extremities and pelvic organs, as well as by means of direct injection of Gerota mass into the lymphatic vessels. Form, amount, dimensions and topography of common iliac lymph nodes have been studied.

The common iliac lymph nodes (CILN) have been investigated on 24 preparations from corpses of elderly persons (5 male and 7 female corpses), died from the causes not connected with the lymphatic system diseases, lower extremities and pelvic organs. The CILN with their afferent and deferent lymphatic vessels are revealed by means of interstitial injection into the lower extremities and pelvic organs, as well as by means of direct injection into lymphatic vessels. The form, amount, size and topography of CILN are studied.

Clinical anatomy of the inguinal, pelvic and lumbar lymph nodes was studied in 89 autopsies on adult males. The data on the life-time lymphographic and post mortem examination of the lymph nodes were compared. It was demonstrated that the retroperitoneal lymph nodes in an adult male include 4-20 right-side, 8-16 left-side external and common iliac, 3-13 right-side lumbar, 3-29 left-side and 0-8 intermediate lumbar nodes.
