There is a growing need for evaluation tools allowing the quantification of the outcome after voice surgeries. Since the end of the 1990s, multiple unfruitful attempts have been made to reach a consensus, including the Dejonckere protocol for the European Laryngological Society in 2001. This suggested to perform objective and quantifiable measures in the following domains: perception, acoustic, aerodynamic, self-evaluation by the patient and videolaryngostroboscopy.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFEndolaryngeal cold-plasma microsurgery for the treatment of benign neoplasms in the larynx used under conditions of high-frequency jet ventilation of the lungs is both a diagnostic tool and a method by which the extent of surgical intervention can be planned. It enables the surgeon to remain in direct contact with the operating field via the tip, to make tangential incisions and probing with a high degree of accuracy. Also, the method ensures bloodless and sterile intervention that induces a less pronounced inflammatory reaction compared with that associated with conventional surgical procedures for the removal of benign laryngeal neoplasms.
