Background And Purpose: Cyclophosphamide (CP) is a widely used antitumor and immunosuppressive drug, but it is highly cytotoxic and has carcinogenic and teratogenic potential. To reduce adverse effects of CP therapy and the frequency of its administration, the microencapsulation of CP into biodegradable polymeric matrices can be performed. However, according to the literature, only a few polymers were found suitable to encapsulate CP and achieve its' sustained release.

The control of low frequency collective modes in solids by light presents important challenges and opportunities for condensed matter physics. We propose a method to parametrically drive low THz range collective modes in an interacting many body system using Floquet driving at optical frequencies with a modulated amplitude. We demonstrate that it can be used to design plasmonic time-varying media with singular dispersions.

It has been established that the wild-type B-10646 strain uses saturated fatty acids (SFAs) for growth and polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) synthesis. It uses lauric (12:0), myristic (14:0), palmitic (16:0) and stearic (18:0) acids as carbon sources; moreover, the elongation of the C-chain negatively affects the biomass and PHA yields. When bacteria grow on C12 and C14 fatty acids, the total biomass and PHA yields are comparable up to 7.

We develop a Fokker-Planck theory of tissue growth with three types of cells (symmetrically dividing, asymmetrically dividing, and nondividing) as main agents to study the growth dynamics of human cerebral organoids. Fitting the theory to lineage tracing data obtained in next generation sequencing experiments, we show that the growth of cerebral organoids is a critical process. We derive analytical expressions describing the time evolution of clonal lineage sizes and show how power-law distributions arise in the limit of long times due to the vanishing of a characteristic growth scale.
