[Effect of the active immunization to plasma amine oxidase on the passive avoidance conditioned reflex].

The influence of immune suppression of blood serum amine oxidase on mnemonic processes was studied during passive avoidance conditioning in white rats. The monoaminergic system is known to participate in conditioning. Our previous studies showed that the active immunization against serum amine oxidase results in suppression of endogenous serum amine oxidase and brain mitochondrial monoamine oxidase activities.

Immunization against monoamine oxidase slows extinction of a conditioned active escape reflex in rats.

Immunization of white rats against bovine plasma monoamine oxidase increased the level of retention of a developed active escape reflex. This phenomenon can serve as a basis for determining the physiological role of bovine plasma monoamine oxidase.

Immunisation of albino rats against heterologous serum MAO from bovine plasma suppressed extinction of active avoidance response. This phenomenon can be used for elucidation of physiological role of the serum monoaminoxydase.
