[Extravasal correction of incompetent valves in the deep veins with frame spirals in the combined treatment of varicose disease of the lower extremities].

The work analyzes the experience of 210 operations for extravasal correction of incompetent valves of profound veins with framework elastic spirals made of lavsan and tantalum in the complex treatment of the varicose disease of lower extremities. The technique of the operation for extravasal correction of incompetent valves with the framework spirals is described. A complete elimination of pathologic reflux of blood through the corrected valve was observed in 56 patients.

[Diagnosis of valvular insufficiency of the deep veins of the leg in varicosity].

Under analysis were the results of investigation of 262 retrograde femoral phlebographies and 86 popliteal phlebographies in the varicose disease of lower extremities. Fifteen healthy volunteers without diseases of lower extremities were studied as a control group in order to study the functions of valves in normality. A conclusion is made that retrograde femoral and popliteal phlebographies are the most valuable diagnostic tests for the detection and localization of incompetent valves of profound veins in the varicose disease of lower extremities.
