Chromatin Structure and "DNA Sequence View": The Role of Satellite DNA in Ectopic Pairing of the X Polytene Chromosome.

Chromatin 3D structure plays a crucial role in regulation of gene activity. Previous studies have envisioned spatial contact formations between chromatin domains with different epigenetic properties, protein compositions and transcription activity. This leaves specific DNA sequences that affect chromosome interactions.

The effect of methylethylpiridinol addition to the therapy on the level of pigment epithelium-derived factor and oxidative status in patients with diabetic nephropathy: randomized controlled open-label clinical study.

Purpose: The diabetic nephropathy is associated with oxidative stress and increases in pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) level in the patient's blood. For the first time, authors investigated the effect of methylethylpiridinol addition to the therapy on oxidative status and pigment epithelium-derived factor concentrations, and examined the relationship between these indicators and clinical markers of pathology development.

The authors analyze occupational morbidity rates in the medical personnel of tuberculosis facilities in the Primorsky Territory, as well as the location of the institutions (industrial premises) and the influence of production factors on medical workers. The nature of work and working conditions in the medical workers of a tuberculosis facility where they are exposed to industrial hazards in practically 100% of cases necessitate effective measures to be taken to preserve and promote their health. The absence of standard buildings and premises for tuberculosis facilities and the low efficiency of rehabilitative sanatorium-and-spa treatment, health improvement, and the prevention of occupational diseases are important problems of a tuberculosis service in the Primorsky Territory.
