Pilot Research to Develop a Nursing Digital Health Capability Framework in Chile.

The Global Digital Health Strategy emphasizes digital health workforce development to reach a sustainable health system. In Chile, a digital health capability framework to support the transition towards digital health and workforce development is still missing. A survey will be applied at a national level.

Changing epidemiology of nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease over the last two decades in a region of the Basque country.

Recent studies suggest an increasing prevalence of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) lung disease. The aim of the present study was to describe incidence rates of NTM lung disease and trends therein in our area over a 20-year period. This was a retrospective study of all cases of NTM lung disease between 1997 and 2016 that met the 2007 American Thoracic Society criteria.

[Developmental disorders in children and adolescents of the Los Ríos region, Valdivia, Chile, 2006-2008].

Objectives: To study possible findings of factors in the antenatal, perinatal or postnatal period, in the mother or the child that may have an influence on the appearance of a developmental disorder.

Patients And Method: A Data Base of Clinical Histories from every patient with a developmental disorder (F80-F90 ICD10) was created. The patients attended the Child Psychiatric Unit at Hospital Regional of Valdivia, Chile, from August 2006 to December 2008.

Use of urine dipstick evaluating young infants with fever without a source and positive urine culture.

We analyzed 239 febrile infants <3 months of age with a positive urine culture to examine their characteristics. Patients with altered urine dipstick showed more commonly alterations of the biologic markers for bacterial infection, and Escherichia coli was more commonly isolated. Febrile young infants with positive urine culture and negative urine dipstick may not have a urinary tract infection and less aggressive management can be considered.
