The precise cause of HS/DCS is still unknown. The relatively low incidence in humans urges for an animal model with a high incidence to accelerate knowledge about genetics and optimal treatment of HS/DCS. Namely, until now, the therapies targeting genetic variants are still more experimental and sparsely used, while consensus is missing.

Pegylated-l-asparaginase therapy for feline large cell lymphoma: 82 cases (2017-2020).

Objectives: The present study aimed to investigate pegylated-l-asparaginase monotherapy for feline large cell lymphoma as a potential alternative to palliative corticosteroids treatment in animals whose owners declined cytotoxic chemotherapy.

Methods: A retrospective, descriptive case series of cats treated initially with pegylated-l-asparaginase as a sole therapy for feline large cell lymphoma is reported. The treatment protocol consisted of 12 intramuscular injections of pegylated-l-asparaginase with increasing intervals.

Laparoscopic vs. open adrenalectomy: perioperative data and survival analysis in 70 dogs with an adrenal tumor.

Adrenalectomy is the treatment of choice in case of functional adrenal tumors and malignant adrenal incidentalomas. Laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) in dogs has gained popularity in recent years, however, clinical studies on large patient populations are scarce. This retrospective study describes perioperative and recurrence data, survival, and prognostic factors in 70 dogs that underwent LA or open adrenalectomy (OA) in our hospital between 2008 and 2022.

Feline Lymphoma: Patient Characteristics and Response Outcome of the COP-Protocol in Cats with Malignant Lymphoma in The Netherlands.

Feline lymphoma is currently less commonly associated with retrovirus infections as the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). This is thought to have caused a shift in the distribution of anatomical subtypes and eventually have led to poorer treatment outcomes. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether this change was also notable in the Netherlands, a country historically known for its low prevalence of FeLV and FIV, and to determine its consequences on treatment response.
