Control of precision grip in children with heavy prenatal alcohol exposure.

Background: Fine motor skill deficits have been reported for children with histories of prenatal alcohol exposure, but little is known whether impaired motor skill extends to the regulation of precision grip control.

Methods: Children with (n = 15) and without (n = 17) histories of heavy prenatal alcohol exposure used their dominant hand to grasp, lift, and hold in space a small-instrumented object with a mass of 19 g. Object mass was also experimentally increased by separately adding two aluminum cubes with mass of 200 and 400 g.

Sporulation also entails metabolic differentiation, whereby key metabolic enzymes are depleted from the forespore but maintained in the mother cell. This reduces the metabolic potential of the forespore, which becomes dependent on mother-cell metabolism and the SpoIIQ-SpoIIIA channel to obtain metabolic building blocks necessary for development.

A Review of Implementation Strategies to Enhance PrEP Delivery for People Experiencing Housing Insecurity: Advancing a Multifaceted High-Touch, Low-Barrier Approach.

Purpose Of Review: This review summarizes key implementation strategies to advance oral and long-acting PrEP delivery for unstably housed people in the United States.

Recent Findings: People experiencing homelessness and housing instability face barriers to PrEP uptake and adherence including lack of safe medication storage, competing basic needs, insurances issues, and/or mental health or substance use disorders. Recent advancements in HIV treatment and prevention provide evidence on high-touch, low-barrier implementation approaches to address these challenges.

Patient-reported outcomes, and perceptions and knowledge about recurrence in women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

Purpose: Over half of hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer recurrences occur >5 years from diagnosis, however, little is known about well-being or breast cancer risk perceptions and knowledge in long-term HR+ breast cancer survivors.

Methods: From 1/2021 to 1/2022, we surveyed patients with a history of stage II/III, HR+ breast cancer, ≥5 years from diagnosis, without recurrence about concerns and perceptions related to their diagnosis and recurrence risk, physical and emotional health, knowledge, and risk reduction. Logistic regression identified factors associated with overestimation of 5-10 year distant recurrence risk.
