The presented study was a part of the ThermoEye project. The study examined the effect of prudent antibiotic treatment in response to illness on the fattening performance, slaughter traits, and meat quality of the pig fatteners. Pigs were divided into an experimental group - EXP and a control - CON.

Two years of a pilot virtual melanoma education program for adolescents in Texas: Assessing knowledge gaps and demographic disparities.

A formal melanoma primary prevention program was developed for a target audience of grade-school adolescents near Houston, Texas, focusing on skin cancer education and promoting long-term sun safety habits. Upon application of a multivariable regression model, adolescents of Black, non-Hispanic race, male gender, and lower grade levels were independent predictors of lower baseline skin cancer prevention knowledge. These findings reveal potential areas to prioritize when addressing knowledge gaps in the adolescent community.

Unveiling the attributes of rabbit milk.

Increasing the knowledge of rabbit milk can help in breeding practice to solve issues considering the health and growth of rabbit kits. The goal of the study was to perform a broad physicochemical analysis of rabbit milk and examine the effect of the reproductive status of the females on daily milk yield and milk attributes. The study was conducted on a commercial rabbit farm and included three consecutive lactations of Hycole does.

Effect of Milk Thistle () Supplementation on Pork Offal Quality.

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of milk thistle supplementation of fattener pig feeds on physical and chemical properties of pork offal. The experiments were conducted on 60 fatteners (group C-control (30 pigs) and group E-experimental (30 pigs)). The experimental group was supplemented with ground milk thistle () at 7 g/kg feed.

How Housing Conditions Determine the Welfare of Pigs.

Humans who care for pigs prefer an environment that not only allows the pigs to express their natural behaviors but also limits the development of aggression and stereotypes. Most of the behavioral and health problems encountered by pigs in barren, conventional conditions are solved by alternative housing systems. However, it is not known whether these systems are advantageous in terms of the performance of pigs.
