Exploratory drilling: how to set up, carry out, and evaluate a seroprevalence study.

Seroprevalence studies represent a very important tool to find out what fraction of population has already met with the new type of coronavirus (e.g. SARS-CoV-2).

Seroprevalence of IgG antibodies against measles in health care workers of the Strakonice Hospital.

Aim: Due to mandatory vaccination introduced in the Czech Republic since 1969, only few measles cases were reported annually until recently. However, a rapid increase of cases has been recorded in last two years. In contrast to the pre-vaccination era, in recent measles outbreaks, many cases have been reported among vaccinated adults.

The intensities of γ-rays from the decay of Au.

The intensities of γ-rays from the Au decay adopted in 1998 and 2007 ENSDF evaluations differ up to 20%. Gold samples were irradiated in intensive neutron fluxes with energies up to 35 MeV to produce the isotopes Au in all isomeric states. The intensities of gammas from the radioactive decay of the isomer Au were measured by means of the nuclear γ-ray spectrometry (HPGe detectors) and compared to the existing adopted data.

CROSS SECTIONS MEASURED BY QUASI-MONOENERGETIC NEUTRONS.

197Au, 209Bi, 59Co, natFe and 169Tm samples were irradiated several times with quasi-monoenergetic neutrons from the p+7Li reaction in the energy range of 18-34 MeV. The activities of the samples were measured with the HPGe detector and the reaction rates were calculated. The cross sections were extracted using the SAND-II code with the reference cross sections from the IRDFF database.
