TZP-4238 is a new potent, orally active steroidal antiandrogen. Antiandrogenic activity and endocrinological profile of TZP-4238 were investigated in rats, except that progestational activity was determined in rabbits. TZP-4238 suppressed the testosterone propionate-induced increases in the weights of the ventral prostate, seminal vesicle and levator ani in castrated immature male rats.

Biological evaluation showed that 5a and 6 had a potent antiandrogenic activity when tested in the castrated male rat.

Calcitonin (0.8 MRC U, in bous) caused, after 10-20 min, a reductive shift of the cytosolic NAD redox pair, and an oxidative shift of the mitochondrial NAD redox pair.

PTX) male Wistar rats that had been infused with a dose of PTH (2.5 U/hr, for 16 hours) so as to reproduce hyperparathyroidism.
