Community-Acquired Human Bocavirus Infection in an Immunocompetent Adult.

Human bocavirus 1 (HBoV1) is a recognized pathogen in respiratory infections among children; however, its prevalence and clinical implications in immunocompetent adults are unclear. We present a case of HBoV1 infection in a 61-year-old immunocompetent female patient with myositis, leading to respiratory failure. The involvement of respiratory muscles rather than lung parenchyma was observed.

Stellate Ganglion Block for Electrical Storm Associated With Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy: A Case Report.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a reversible condition characterized by apical ballooning of the left ventricle, primarily triggered by catecholamine discharge due to stress. Patients may present with symptoms similar to acute coronary syndrome or with refractory ventricular arrhythmias such as QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation. We report a case of TCM with prolonged QT intervals and refractory ventricular arrhythmias, triggered by noncardiac systemic insult, that responded successfully to stellate ganglion block (SGB).

Melatonin hormone level in nurses and factors affecting it; Investigation according to shift working pattern.

This study aimed to determine the relationship between melatonin hormone levels, sleep, and factors affecting sleep, psychological resilience, and depression in nurses working with a shift work system. Conducted between February 5-12, 2021, at the Training and Research Hospital in Ağrı province, the descriptive study included 41 night shift nurses and 35 day shift nurses, totaling 76 participants. Blood samples for melatonin analysis were collected and data were gathered using the Sociodemographic Information Form, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Sleep Disorder Scale Short Form, Brief Psychological Resilience Scale, and Beck Depression Scale Short Form.
