A retrospective case-control study was performed to determine the clinical differences between dogs with enterococcal bacteriuria (n = 96 cases) and control dogs with any other bacteriuria (n = 288). More dogs with nonenterococcal bacteriuria demonstrated lower urinary tract clinical signs such as hematuria, pollakiuria, and stranguria (40% versus 27%, P = .02).

Somatic gain-of-function mutations in the L-type calcium channel CaV1.3 (CACNA1D gene) cause adrenal aldosterone-producing adenomas and micronodules. De novo germline mutations are found in a syndrome of primary aldosteronism, seizures, and neurologic abnormalities (PASNA) as well as in autism spectrum disorder.

The GPI-anchoring pathway plays important roles in normal development and immune modulation. MHC Class I Polypeptide-related Sequence A (MICA) is a stress-induced ligand, downregulated by human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) to escape immune recognition. Its most prevalent allele, MICA*008, is GPI-anchored via an uncharacterized pathway.

In this letter, we propose a functional on the basis of the Schwinger variational principle that accounts for the particle rearrangement by solving a projected Lippmann-Schwinger equation system. The method is tested in the static-coupled approximation for positron-H, where excellent agreements with benchmark results are found for the elastic, positronium (Ps) formation and annihilation cross sections. The effect of virtual Ps formation is evidenced through the analysis of the annihilation map.

The rice water weevil, Oryzophagus oryzae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), is an economically important pest of flooded rice paddies throughout South America, and species with similar life histories are present in many rice-producing regions globally (collectively referred to here as RWWs). Plant resistance is a key strategy for management of RWWs; however, the mechanisms responsible for rice resistance to RWWs are poorly understood. We investigated morphoanatomical and biochemical plant traits potentially involved in rice resistance to O.
