[Antifungal immunity in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps].

Objective: To evaluate the characteristics of antifungal immunity in patients with bilateral chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

Material And Methods: The study included 74 patients with bilateral chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and a control group consisting of 30 almost healthy individuals. All patients underwent surgery and were divided into two groups: Group I - with liquid secretion (=39), Group II - with thick secretion in the paranasal sinuses (=35).

N-(5-Phenylpentan-1-yl)adenine-A New Non-competitive Receptor-Specific Anti-cytokinin.

For the first time, N-(5-phenylpentan-1-yl)adenine, a synthetic adenine derivative with a receptor-specific anticytokinin effect, was obtained. This compound exhibits a pronounced anticytokinin effect, reducing cytokinin-induced expression of the GUS reporter gene when interacting with the cytokinin receptor CRE1/AHK4 of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. This effect manifests itself much weaker with the related AHK2 receptor and is not observed at all with the AHK3 receptor.

Structure-Dependent Mechanism of Organophosphate Release from Albumin and Butyrylcholinesterase Adducts When Exposed to Fluoride Ion: A Comprehensive In Silico Study.

The most favorable targets for retrospectively determining human exposure to organophosphorus pesticides, insecticides, retardants, and other industrial organophosphates (OPs) are adducts of OPs with blood plasma butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and human serum albumin (HSA). One of the methods for determining OP exposure is the reactivation of modified BChE using a concentrated solution of KF in an acidic medium. It is known that under the action of fluoride ion, OPs or their fluoroanhydrides can be released not only from BChE adducts but also from the adducts with albumin; however, the contribution of albumin to the total pool of released OPs after plasma treatment with KF has not yet been studied.

The cytokinin receptor OHK4/OsHK4 regulates inflorescence architecture in rice via an IDEAL PLANT ARCHITECTURE1/WEALTHY FARMER'S PANICLE-mediated positive feedback circuit.

Inflorescence architecture is important for rice (Oryza sativa) grain yield. The phytohormone cytokinin (CK) has been shown to regulate rice inflorescence development; however, the underlying mechanism mediated by CK perception is still unclear. Employing a forward genetic approach, we isolated an inactive variant of the CK receptor OHK4/OsHK4 gene named panicle length1, which shows decreased panicle size due to reduced inflorescence meristem (IM) activity.

[Clinical case of dirofiariosis in the practice of otorhinolaryngologist].

The article presents the clinical case of a young woman with the dirofilariosis of the nose slope on the right side. This disease is quite rare, and therefore there is a difficulty in setting the correct one. This case is a professional interest both for young doctors and for experienced specialists.
