Recently, the therapeutic potential of this therapy has also been demonstrated in non-tumoral diseases. Introduction: Oral mucositis (OM) is a main side effect of treatment for head and neck cancer (HNC) and causes severe pain, reduces quality of life, and may interrupt HNC treatment. This study assessed the activity and feasibility of benzydamine mouthwash in the prevention and treatment of radiation-induced OM in patients with HNC during radiation therapy (RT).

Methods: This phase IV, international, open-label, single-group study conducted from December 2021 to September 2022.

This report describes the case of a 56-year-old woman who presented at the emergency room with a 3-week history of severe, intermittent abdominal pain. A CT scan revealed colo-colic intussusception caused by a large, substenosing mass with predominant adipose density. Subsequent endoscopic examination with biopsy revealed a necrotic tissue covering the mass, without definitive histological characterization.

Marine (blue) biotechnology is an emerging field enabling the valorization of new products and processes with massive potential for innovation and economic growth. In the Mediterranean region, this innovation potential is not exploited as well as in other European regions due to a lack of a clear identification of the different value chains and the high fragmentation of business innovation initiatives.
