Polydextrose (PDX) is a non-digestible oligosaccharide with a complex structure widely used in the food industry. Studies have shown many health benefits of polydextrose, including modulating the gut microbiota, improving the immune system, altering the lipid profile, and stimulating bowel function. Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) report gut dysbiosis, inflammation, dyslipidemia and constipation.
