Estimation of phase distortions of the photoplethysmographic signal in digital IIR filtering.

Pre-processing of the photoplethysmography (PPG) signal plays an important role in the analysis of the pulse wave signal. The task of pre-processing is to remove noise from the PPG signal, as well as to transmit the signal without any distortions for further analysis. The integrity of the pulse waveform is essential since many cardiovascular parameters are calculated from it using morphological analysis.

Anorexia nervosa through the lens of primary health care practitioners in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Background: Anorexia nervosa was investigated in a large number of studies. Several of the studies in our review highlighted how important it is to factor in the opinion of health care practitioners if we want to improve the quality of the medical care provided to patients with anorexia nervosa. Additionally, the dominance of studies focused on anorexia nervosa within the Western culture raised the need for cultural diversity in such research.

Experiences of Kyrgyzstani Frontline Healthcare Workers during the "Black July" of 2020: a Qualitative Study.

Background: The peak of the pandemic in Kyrgyzstan occurred in July 2020 with highest infection rates, almost 1000 cases daily, compared to 100 cases prior to this date. The state health system was fatally unprepared to accommodate patients, mobilize medical staff, or provide clear instructions to the population. This study explores personal narratives of healthcare practitioners who were affected by and survived COVID-19 during the "Black July" of 2020 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Outpatient Services for People with Mental Disorders in the Kyrgyz Republic: What Is Next?: Состояние внебольничной помощи в Кыргызстане: что дальше?

The outpatient care service for patients with mental disorders in the Kyrgyz Republic is currently experiencing various difficulties. These are largely due to a number of organizational and socio-economic problems at the state level. Treatment of patients with mental disorders is still provided in state mental health centres, while psychosocial services at the community level are only now beginning to be developed.

Changes in national rates of psychiatric beds and incarceration in Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia from 1990-2019: A retrospective database analysis.

Background: Numbers of psychiatric beds (general, forensic, and residential) and prison populations have been considered to be indicators of institutionalisation of people with mental illnesses. The present study aimed to assess changes of those indicators across Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) over the last three decades to capture how care has developed during that historical period.

Methods: We retrospectively obtained data on numbers of psychiatric beds and prison populations from 30 countries in CEECA between 1990 and 2019.
