Introduction: There is a need for a noninvasive, affordable, sensitive, and specific biomarker to diagnose early acute rejection, to negate the need for frequent biopsies. Dd-cfDNA is a powerful adjunct yet there is limited data on the ethnic differences in its values. There is anecdotal evidence that dd-cfDNA values at rejection may be higher in Black as compared to non-Black recipients.

Unlabelled: Periodontitis (PD) is a polymicrobial dysbiotic immuno-inflammatory disease. Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are present on gingival epithelial cells and recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) on pathogenic bacteria, induce the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines, and initiate innate and adaptive antigen-specific immune responses to eradicate the invading microbes. Since PD is a chronic inflammatory disease, TLR2/TLR4 plays a vital role in disease pathogenesis and maintaining the periodontium during health.

Gamna-Gandy (GG) bodies are sclerosiderotic nodules composed of iron pigment and calcium, that have been described predominantly in the spleens of patients with sickle cell disease. Their formal depiction in the kidney is mainly limited to case reports and small series. We aimed to investigate the incidence of GG bodies and associated clinicopathologic features in consecutive nephrectomies performed for renal tumors.

We report a case of small bowel perforation from ileo-ileal intussusception with necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) after indomethacin exposure mimicking spontaneous intestinal perforation in an extremely preterm neonate. Indomethacin exposure can cause mesenteric hypoperfusion, resulting in an ischaemic lead point for intussusception and NEC. We advocate that intussusception should be considered as one of the differentials for neonates with recurrent feeding intolerance postindomethacin exposure.
