The functional states of the polynuclear leukocytes examined on the original experimental sepsis model have been studied. It has been shown that the bioactive factors of the microorganisms define the functional states of the polynuclear leukocytes. The features of the different forms of the sepsis are explained with such phenomenon.

It is proved that the condition of the primary and secondary purulent foci determines the course of the wound process and the occurrence and progress of sepsis. Radical surgical debridement of the wound leads to early optimization of the condition of the immune system and creates conditions for effective immunologic correction and intensive therapy.

EIA helped detect IgG antibodies to Toxoplasma in almost 30% of examined adults and children with various ocular diseases, this indicating a high Toxoplasma infection rate in the population. IgM antibodies (indicating an acute infection) were detected in only three children, and Toxoplasma was not the agent of uveitis in these patients.

The influence of dimephosphone at concentrations of 0.001 M-0.75 M on the chemiluminescence of tissues at the focus of purulent infection in the ear of a guinea pig, on the survival rate of the experimental animals injected with the lethal dose of Staphylococcus aureus, as well as on the spontaneous and stimulated chemiluminescence of blood neutrophils in patients with wound infection, was studied.
