Stiff-person syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder manifested by stiffness in the trunk and proximal limb muscles and painful muscle spasms in them. The disease is associated with the production of glutamate decarboxylase autoantibodies, an enzyme converting glutamate into gamma-aminobutyric acid. Objective: To evaluate the effect of a sequential therapy regimen with Mexidol (500 mg injections intravenously for 14 days) and Mexidol FORTE 250 (250 mg tablets 3 times a day for 60 days) on higher cortical functions in patients with moderate cognitive disorders in chronic cerebral ischemia.

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) comprise a group of autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system that manifest as optic neuritis and transverse myelitis. Its manifestation in the form of optic neuritis makes early diagnosis difficult because neuroimaging of the spinal cord is not a part of the routine examination algorithm for such patients. This article presents the results of a comprehensive ophthalmological examination of 4 patients (8 eyes) diagnosed with NMSOD.
