Introduction: Data on the optimal management of patients with hematologic malignancies and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) are lacking, particularly for multiday chemotherapy regimens. We report our institutional experience in patients with B-cell lymphoma receiving multiday dose-adjusted R-EPOCH chemotherapy utilizing two CINV prophylaxis strategies.

Methods: We performed a retrospective, single-center, cohort study evaluating hospitalized patients with aggressive non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma receiving DA-R-EPOCH (April 2016 to October 2022).

The Commercially Insured health Plan Risk Index for Overdose or Serious Opioid-induced Respiratory Depression (CIP-RIOSORD) is an evidence-based screening tool to determine an individual's risk of opioid-induced respiratory depression (OIRD) or overdose. Chronic opioid use and changes in a patient's clinical status and/or medication regimen may impact OIRD or overdose risk. This study evaluated longitudinal CIP-RIOSORD scores over three consecutive visits.

The impact of cancer-related diarrhea on changes in cancer therapy.

Purpose: The impact of cancer-related diarrhea (CRD) on changes in cancer therapy remains poorly characterized despite its prevalence.

Methods: We performed a longitudinal observational study using IQVIA PharMetrics Plus claims data. Patients included adults with CRD identified by diagnosis codes or pharmacy claims and compared their outcomes to matched (1:1) patients without CRD.

Ponsegromab for the Treatment of Cancer Cachexia.

Background: Cachexia is a common complication of cancer and is associated with an increased risk of death. The level of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15), a circulating cytokine, is elevated in cancer cachexia. In a small, open-label, phase 1b study involving patients with cancer cachexia, ponsegromab, a humanized monoclonal antibody inhibiting GDF-15, was associated with improved weight, appetite, and physical activity, along with suppressed serum GDF-15 levels.
