Developments in Group Transference-Focused Psychotherapy.

Several evidence-based psychotherapies for personality disorders have been developed in recent decades, including transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP), a contemporary model of psychodynamic psychotherapy developed by Otto Kernberg. Kernberg established Group TFP (TFP-G) as an alternative or adjunct treatment to individual TFP. Although not yet manualized, TFP-G is used in publicly and privately funded mental health services, including outpatient clinics, subacute hospitals, therapeutic inpatient units, partial hospitalization services, and rehabilitation services serving people with borderline personality.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Image-guided Biopsies for Diagnosis of Metastatic Melanoma in a Real-life Setting.

Early detection of melanoma metastasis is essential in order to initiate treatment and improve patient prognosis. The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of different image-guided biopsy techniques in patients with melanoma. A cohort study of patients diagnosed with melanoma who had undergone image-guided biopsies (ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration cytology, ultrasound-guided core-needle biopsy, computerized tomography--guided fine-needle aspiration cytology and computerized tomography-guided core-needle biopsy) to detect melanoma metastasis between 2004 and 2021 was conducted.

Need of adjustment of methanogenic activities from solids digester sludge: Modelling dilution effects on micro-organisms biomass concentration.

Anaerobic digestion is a widespread technology used for organic-based solid waste management. Specific methanogenic activity tests are simple and cost-effective tools for sludge characterization and system diagnosis. However, in solid digesters, substrate and organic inert material dilute micro-organisms, enlarging the activity tests and distorting experimental results.

Comparison of Different Methods for Defining Hyperprogressive Disease in NSCLC.

Introduction: Hyperprogressive disease (HPD) as a consequence of immune checkpoint inhibitors in NSCLC has been reported in multiple studies. However, inconsistent results in incidence and survival outcomes within studies, together with different assessment methods, have led to increasing controversy regarding the concept of HPD.

Methods: Consecutive patients treated with nivolumab (N = 42) or docetaxel (N = 37) were evaluated.

CD40 Silencing by siRNA Infusion in Rodents and Evaluation by Kidney Immunostaining.

The co-stimulatory molecule CD40 and its ligand CD40L play a key role in the regulation of immunological processes and are involved in the pathophysiology of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Inhibition of the CD40-CD40L axis is a promising therapy, and a number of strategies and techniques have been designed to hinder its functionality. Our group has broad experience in silencing CD40 using RNAi technology, and here we summarize protocols for the systemic administration of a specific anti-CD40 siRNA in different rodents models, in addition to the subsequent quantification of CD40 expression in murine kidneys by immunostaining.
