[Hepatocellular adenoma and focal nodular hyperplasia].

The diagnostic findings of hepatocellular adenoma and focal nodular hyperplasia became more frequent in the last years in our as in western experience. The improvement in diagnostic technique, a correct pathological identification and the diffusion of oral contraceptives explain this increase of incidence. In our series were present 11 hepatocellular adenomas and 19 focal nodular hyperplasias: all the HCA cases were radically resected, while only 15 FNH were resected, only two biopsied and two submitted to periodical follow-up.

[Extended surgical resections of locally diffuse colorectal carcinoma (clinical cases)].

The authors report on a study population of extended operations for locally spread colon-rectum cancer in the Verona Surgical Clinic over the period from 1971 to 1987 (114 surgical demolitions for colon-rectum cancer out of a total of 1294 operations). They report an overall 5-year survival rate of 41% and a 3-year survival rate of 59% with a perioperative mortality rate of 1.75%.

[A rare pathologic association: an appendiceal mucocele in a strangulated properitoneal hernia].

The authors refer about a case of mucocele contained in a strangled properitoneal inguinal hernia and they discuss its pathogenesis.
