The material consisted of 141 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from various sources and derived from children treatment in the Institute of Pediatrics. Adherence properties of these strains were tested by application of an own micromethod with application of 96 well titration plates. Proteolytic activity was investigated by means of gel radial diffusion with application of caseine and elastin as substrates.

The study was aimed at comparison of chemiluminescence of granulocytes during their incubation with suspensions of Pseudomonas strains isolated from various sources. The study was performed on 136 strains isolated from clinical material. The results were correlated with resistance of these bacteria to bactericidal activity of serum and their ability to produce proteolytic enzymes.
