Rapid and sustained B-cell depletion with subcutaneous ofatumumab in relapsing multiple sclerosis: APLIOS, a randomized phase-2 study.

Background: Ofatumumab, the first fully human anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, is approved in several countries for relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS).

Objective: To demonstrate the bioequivalence of ofatumumab administered by an autoinjector versus a pre-filled syringe (PFS) and to explore the effect of ofatumumab on B-cell depletion.

Methods: APLIOS (NCT03560739) is a 12-week, open-label, parallel-group, phase-2 study in patients with RMS receiving subcutaneous ofatumumab 20 mg every 4 weeks (q4w) (from Week 4, after initial doses on Days 1, 7, and 14).

Validation of the Brief International Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis (BICAMS) in the Russian Population.

Objective: Cognitive dysfunction is common in multiple sclerosis (MS). The Brief International Cognitive Assessment for MS (BICAMS) battery of tests has been suggested as a measure for the evaluation of the cognitive status of MS patients. This study aims to validate the BICAMS battery in the Russian population of MS patients.

[Actual issues of serum aquaporin-4 autoantibodies evaluation in the diagnostics of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders].

Objective: To analyze the usage and timeliness of aquaporin-4 antibodies (AQP4-IgG) serology test in the diagnostics of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) in routine clinical practice.

Material And Methods: 27 patients with NMOSD were included in the study. All patients had a positive serum test for AQP4-IgG.

[Comorbidity of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder and systemic lupus erythematosus].

The comorbidity of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a poorly studied problem. The issues of the pathogenetic relationship between these diseases, timely diagnosis of their co-existence in one patient, disease course and therapeutic approaches are the most relevant. The authors summarize current views on the state of the problem and analyze three clinical cases of NMOSD and SLE comorbidity including the diagnostic issues and therapeutic approaches.
