Purpose: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic reshaped the usual risk: benefit equilibrium that became a trade-off between the infection exposure risk for the patient (and for staff) and the risk associated with delaying or cancelling the nuclear medicine examination. This study aimed at quantifying the impact of the first COVID-19 lockdown in France on nuclear medicine examination volume together with volume of examination cancellation and non-attendance.
Methods: We retrospectively assessed the volume of planned examinations from 1 month before to 1 month after the first lockdown in French high-volume nuclear medicine departments (NMD) sharing the same information management system including both university hospitals, UH (n = 7), and cancer centres, CC (n = 2).
Background And Goal Of This Study: Few available galenic formulations of drugs have pediatric doses, so that many of them are used off label in children. The influence of such pharmaceutical formulation on therapeutic adherence was evaluated in a systematic review of the literature.
Materials And Methods: This search was performed in 4 data bases: Medline, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science and Science Direct.
Introduction: Benzodiazepines are widely used in the elderly, but may induce potentially severe iatrogenic events like falls. The analysis of their use is difficult because of the numerous molecules and dosages available. The aim of the present study is to build a tool to monitor their consumption and to evaluate the relation between this consumption and patient's falls reported in three geriatric institutions.
