We aimed to investigate the relationship between the degree of mast cells' (MCs) infiltration and clinicopathological features of prostate cancer (PCa) malignancy and to find out the possible mechanisms of the involvement of these cells in the formation of the aggressive course of the PCa development. The study was conducted on the clinical material of 60 patients with PCa of stages II-III. MCs in the PCa tissue were determined by a histochemical method using toluidine blue.

In this study, we investigated the relationship between the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), histological differentiation and hypoxia in patients with muscular-invasive urothelial carcinomas (MIUC) after radical cystectomy. Forty-two cases of pT2-3N0M0 MIUCs underwent clinical, histological and immunohistochemical evaluation by counting CD8+, FOXP3+, CD68+, CD163+ cells and polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) in intra-tumoral and peritumoral areas, assessing PD-L1 and GLUT1 expression for defining the impact of tumor immune contexture on patients' outcomes. Five-year survival rates and overall survival were calculated.

Impact of bladder extirpation on quality of life in the patients, suffering severe complications of bladder cancer, was studied and efficacy of the urine turn off was determined. Results of treatment of 52 patients with complicated course of the bladder cancer, to whom bladderectomy was performed for vital indications using various methods of the urine turn off, were analyzed. After performance of intrarectal turn off of the urine with formation urinal reservoir or ileo-neobladderplasty there was noted the lowest rate of ureterohydronephros occurrence.

A clinical-and-laboratory analysis was done in 76 patients who had undergone transurethal resection (TUR) for benign hyperplasia of the prostate (PH). Included into a complex clinical-and-laboratory examination were bacteriological urine tests, with the causative agent isolated and identified, analysis of the course of the affection, assessment of X-ray findings, clinical analyses of urine and blood. With the purpose of preventing pyo-septic complications before surgery and postoperatively, cephtasidim (fortum), a broad-spectrum antibiotic, was prescribed.
