Background: The aim of this study was to examine the long-term effect of shortening after a midshaft clavicular fracture on strength deficiency in the shoulder.
Method: This study included 18 participants (14 males, 4 females) with a conservatively treated midshaft clavicular fracture. Mean age was 52.
Background: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) reach is minimal globally, primarily due to financial factors. This study characterized CR funding sources, cost to patients to participate, cost to programs to serve patients, and the drivers of these costs.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, an online survey was administered to CR programs globally.
Objectives: To compare the effectiveness of acute geriatric unit care, based on all or part of the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) model and introduced in the acute phase of illness or injury, with that of usual care.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis of 13 randomized controlled and quasi-experimental trials with parallel comparison groups retrieved from multiple sources.
Setting: Acute care geriatric and nongeriatric hospital units.
In 1999, hospitals in Ontario, Canada, collaborated with a university-based research team to develop a report on the relative performance of individual hospitals in Canada's most populated province. The researchers used the balanced-scorecard framework advocated by Kaplan and Norton. Indicators of performance were developed in four areas: clinical utilization and outcomes, patient satisfaction, system integration and change, and financial performance and condition.

Clinical evidence suggests that early endothelial cell (EC) dysfunction may predict the development of graft vascular disease. We wished to assess the early functional and morphological changes in the graft endothelium in a commonly used animal model of graft vascular disease, the rat aortic interposition allograft model. To assess graft EC function, regulation of vascular tone by ECs was monitored in aortic rings from grafts harvested at various times after transplantation (Tx).
