[Effect of cobalt on risk factors for chronic noninfectious diseases inYamal dwellers].

The impact of cobalt concentrations on the prevalence of arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and risk factors for chronic noninfectious diseases was studied among an unorganized 20-59-year-old population of the Yamal-Nenetsk Autonomic District. A total of 1521 subjects were randomly selected and examined, the response rate was 78.0%.

[Cardiovascular performance in Yamal adolescents in adapting to academic activity].

The combined use of cardiointervalography and an orthostatic test allows detailed assessment of the adaptive capacities of the cardiovascular system. The paper gives the results of examination of 60 healthy adolescents from Yamal. Adjustment mechanisms have been assessed by means of hemodynamic parameters in boys and girls.

[Naturally caused imbalance of elements in the population of the Yamal Region (a review)].

The study has indicated that microelementosis in the natives and newcomers of Yamal is caused by the geochemical features of the region and supplemented by inadequate zinc intake. The region's waters differ in their hygienic standards and high levels of iron and the air is characterized by the latter's deficiency. Fe is ingested equally with water and foodstuffs while Cu and Zn are mainly with foods.

[Efficiency of food supplements rich of mineral substance in complex therapy of hypertensive disease in the Far North].

The efficiency of combined hypotension therapy in combination with biological active substance (BAS) "Cigapan" in prophylactic dosage during a one-year period was studied. The changes in trace-elemental status were stated. It is shown that these changes lead to worsening of blood rheology and fat metabolism and also to allergic syndrome retention.
