A comprehensive hygienic evaluation was done of the ambient air pollution in urban industrial centers of the Dnepropetrovsk Province. Substantiated as priority pollutants were nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde and benz(a)-pyren. Air pollution was at its greatest in Krivoi Rog and Dneprodzerzhinsk, with the aggregated atmospheric air pollution index being 34,9 and 34,5 respectively.

The analysis of 3 chronic experiments on white rats pertaining to the study of the combined effect of noise at 85 and 95 dBA and aerosols containing manganese, chromium, nickel oxides and SiO2 showed that there were noted the effects caused by their combined impact. The shifts were clearly marked in the state of the endocrine and cardiovascular systems.
