Pure ovarian ependymoma: report of a case treated with surgery, chemotherapy, irradiation and hyperthermotherapy.

Ependymomas usually develop from neuroectodermal organs. Pure ovarian ependymoma is an extremely rare tumor. We report a patient with ovarian ependymoma who died at the age of 28, 9 years after initial surgery and subsequent intensive combination therapy (chemotherapy, irradiation and hyperthermotherapy) for repeated relapses and metastatic tumors.
