Rock Climbing-Related Injuries: A Clinical and Imaging Overview.

The rise in popularity of competitive and recreational rock climbing, particularly following its inclusion in the 2021 Summer Olympics, has led to a corresponding increase in rock climbing-related injuries. Due to the sport's unique biomechanical demands, it often presents injuries not commonly seen in other sports. Additionally, although some injuries align with those encountered in other sports, they manifest through distinctive climbing-related mechanisms unfamiliar to many clinicians.

Early detection of disseminating vancomycin-resistant (VREfm) in ICU wards is crucial for outbreak identification and the implementation of prompt infection control measures. Genotypic methods like pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) are costly and time-consuming, hindering rapid response due to batch dependency. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) offers the potential for real-time outbreak detection and reliable strain typing.

Co,Ce nanoparticles supported on stacked wire mesh cartridges. Activity and stability in diesel soot combustion.

In this work, CoO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by precipitating a precursor salt solution in the form of microdroplets generated by a nebulizer, as an efficient, fast and low-cost approach. After drying and calcination, synthesized particles were deposited on stacked wire mesh monoliths by immersing the structures in a suspension containing synthesized CoO particles and commercial ceria nanoparticles as a binder. These structured catalysts were evaluated for the combustion of diesel soot which constitutes a crucial step in the regeneration of catalytic particulate filters (CDPFs).

Impact of specialized training for emergency department nurses screening or undetected HIV infection: the "Urgències VIHgila" project experience.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of specialized training for nurses on selective screening for undetected HIV infection in the emergency department.

Material And Methods: The intervention group was comprised of 6 emergency departments that had been participating in a screening program (the "Urgències VIHgila" project) for at least 3 months. Nurses on all shifts attended training sessions that emphasized understanding the circumstances that should lead to suspicion of unidentified HIV infection and the need to order serology.

Mn and Co decorated biomorphic ceria fiber catalysts for soot and benzene total oxidation.

Mn or Co supported CeO fiber catalysts were synthesized following a biotemplating route and evaluated in soot combustion and benzene total oxidation. The catalysts were characterized by SEM, EDX, N physisorption, FTIR-ATR, XRD, RAMAN and XPS. SEM results confirmed that the "twisted ribbon" morphology of the biotemplate was mostly maintained.
