An Exploration of Clinical Characteristics and Treatment Outcomes Associated with Dietetic Intervention in Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa.

Although dietitians possess expert knowledge on the interplay between nutrition and health, their specific role in family therapy for anorexia nervosa (FT-AN) remains a topic of debate. Some of the literature indicates insufficient evidence to affirm the impact of dietetic interventions, emphasising variability in outcomes and a need for standardised research. This study aimed to identify the clinical characteristics of adolescents requiring dietetic intervention during FT-AN and to assess differences in clinical outcomes between those receiving dietetic support and those who did not.

Overcoming the Impedance Range Limitations of Portable Bioelectrical Impedance Spectroscopy Clinical Devices.

Several portable commercial bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) devices are used in clinical research, but are limited by their reduced impedance measuring range to less demanding four-electrode configuration measurements. Some of these devices provide raw bioimpedance data for research purposes. The SFB7 device from ImpediMed® is a typical portable clinical device which perform 256 measurement points from 3 kHz to 1 MHz, providing for each point the resistance R and the reactance X.

Train the trainer: improving health education for children and adolescents in Eswatini.

Background: Eswatini has the highest HIV prevalence in the world. One issue at the root of health in Eswatini is a lack of basic health knowledge among children and adolescents, which amplifies the likelihood of disease transmission and poor health outcomes.

Objectives: To address the lack of basic health education and to improve health knowledge, we developed and evaluated a medical education program to train shepherds (train-the-trainer) who are supporting children and adolescents at local CarePoints.

Moral injury and chronic pain among military veterans in an integrated behavioral health clinic.

Objective: Military service may place veterans at increased risk for perpetrating, witnessing, or failing to prevent events that violate deeply held moral values. In some cases, veterans may develop moral injury (MI) symptoms that transcend and/or overlap with mental health conditions such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD). Further, PTSD and MDD are 2 established risk factors for chronic pain.

911 Calls for Emergency Medical Services in Heart Failure: A Descriptive Qualitative Study.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a common condition leading to activation of emergency medical services (EMS).

Objective: The aim of this study was to describe reasons given by persons with HF, family members, or other caregivers for requesting EMS activation during 911 calls.

Methods: In this descriptive qualitative study, a content analysis was performed on transcribed audio files of 383 EMS requests involving 383 persons with HF in the community.
